The only bad thing I have to say about the Plustek, is, when talking with a couple of other people who bought one, the space NOT read by the lamp on the outside edge seems tto vary by up to an eighth of an inch... other than that, scans in around 8-30 seconds, depending on dpi desired, MUCH less wear and tear on the books, and even oversized books CAN be scanned fairly easily, since the outside lip has no rise to it, allowing for a flat scan of a book that hangs over the edge...
In short, I can't recommend it enough... (Oh, and the colours it produces with 0 auto-adjusts - all of mine are set to OFF - is truly accurate, as long as you have a true white strip of paper or comic backing board on the glass with the book being scanned, due to the gamma reduction built in)...
