Would it be possible to host scans of Dell's FLYING SAUCERS (1967) #1-4 (number 5 was a reprint of #1)? I recently found a copy of #1 on the Internet Archives and was surprised how well-done it was -- possibly putting the later Gold Key series UFO FLYING SAUCERS/OUTER SPACE to shame. Another Dell title from the same period that is of interest to me is the 4-issue SUPER HEROES (also 1967). Or are they not public domain? I thought I saw other Dell comics from the '60s hosted here but I don't know if there's a copyright date cutoff line in there somewhere, or who would hold the copyright to Dell stories that were not based on licensed material.

positronic,

I'm not an expert either, but. There are two issues, PD - Public Domain and Copyright.
Something is PD if nobody claims ownership of it and it is also out of copyright.
So for example, nothing here from DC, Marvel, Disney or King because all of their stuff is under constantly renewed copyright. I believe the cut-off date for PD is 1964. There are many posts on CB+ re Copyright and PD
It's complicated.
However, the internet being what it is, If you search hard enough, I am sure you will find the books you would like, on other sites. Just not CB+

cheers!

I've had no luck finding (except for that issue 1 on the Internet Archives) FLYING SAUCERS or SUPER HEROES elsewhere, which is why I asked. There are so many comics now that ones that might have been scanned and uploaded somewhere else at one time might suddenly disappear at any time (they seem to track how many hits any particular comic get, and unpopular ones get removed so they can be replaced by more popular new ones). In short, there's not a great interest in the wider world for some of the older Dell comics that didn't feature recognizable characters like Tarzan or the Disney characters. Marvel, DC, and more recent independent comics publishers still dominate the bulk of scans available. There remains interest in some older defunct Golden Age publishers (but usually mostly the superhero titles).
