I have a vague memory of the "Shu-Lok" shoes advertised on page 34. As I recall the tongue section of the shoe was hinged and flipped upward, opening the shoe. You stuck in your foot and snapped the tongue down into place. I think the mechanism was similar to the hinge in a snap-on tie. Does anyone have a clearer recollection?

I had a pair of these. Very convenient but the mechanism failed in a few months.
There were curved sections of spring wire on each side and on the tongue a hinged flat piece with guides on each side. When you snapped the tongue into place it drew the sides closed.
