I had this comic when I was a kid! Delighted to find someone else who knew about Ben Bowie, certainly not as well known as Jim , who had a tv show.<br /> American history of the frontier an interest of mine. Wonder though about having some stories set at time of French and Indian War. Think of &quot;mountain men &quot; as later. early 19th century, after Lewis and Clark, men like Kit Carson and Jim Bridger.<br /> Then again, James Fenimore Cooper set his Lestherstocking Tales around time of that war. His hero Natty Bumpo was a portrait of the frontiersman of that day. Remember the Tv show Hawkeye based on Cooper&#39;s books.
