I've replaced the incomplete version of "The Terrorists" story with a complete one.  The missing D66 tier was kindly supplied by Phillipe Ramet, following a couple of comments from others in another group about Wiseman and I not being able to find the missing tier. All serene now.
You'll find the complete version here:-

Another new version of a Buck Ryan tale, this time, Murder at Meadowside House.  The previous version had 2 tiers missing but Leonardo dug out and supplied them.  Many thanks to Leonardo for his work.

Having dug up some Buck Ryan comicbook covers for myself, I thought they might be of interest to some of you.  This is a selection only and although Buck Ryan stories were also reprinted in the Portuguese language title, "O Mosquito", I haven't come up with a cover for any of them.  A couple of interior pages are on some internet sites, but frustratingly no covers.  Perhaps he was never cover featured.  If anyone can turn up an example, that would be great.

And another Buck Ryan re-creation. From 1949, this originally untitled tale now goes by the name, Fake Stamps and Crocodiles. Thanks again to wiseman for digging out the tiers.

Today, another Buck Ryan re-creation.  This time the layout is a bit different as it's 2 tiers high and widescreen, so this is by way of an experiment.  Wiseman came up with the goods, yet again, supplying bigger, clearer strips, so I decided to try a widescreen look. We'll wait to see if members screens have any problems.  If there are problems, I'll re-jig the file.
Enjoy the story, it's a good one:-

Another little something in the run up to Christmas.  And if Wiseman hadn't twigged that I had forgotten a couple of stories, you might not have had this one.  The state of my downloads folder?!!!!!  It needs a good reddin' oot:-
https://comicbookplus.com/?dlid=72855
Also thanks to Wiseman, we have the up till now missing first page of one of my earlier uploads, The Laughing Killer.  All I have to do now is insert the tier, which will mean creating a new page with one tier only and a text block.  With luck it wont look too clunky.
Modifying this post to add that I made a right old mess of uploading The Laughing Killer file, and managed, somehow, to re-upload the old, incomplete one.  So apologies to any members who find themselves with the same old file.  The new one is now available here:-

This could be my last upload for the year - it's getting a bit busy pre-Christmas now and I have a lot of comics to read over the festive period.  And some good wine and food to help see in the New Year.
So Wiseman and I hope you enjoy this Buck Ryan mystery, I certainly did.

I've added 2 new issues of Atome Kid today, #26 & #31.  Have a look at the cover of #31, bearing in mind that this series saw the light of day in 1956.
You'll find them here:-

Followed up by an Australian edition of Black Cat Adventures.  This is another one which asserts in the indicia that it was drawn in Australia. Javar Studios had a habit of this.
Anyway, it's here:-

With grateful thanks to the good guys at https://bdvintagerares.blogspot.com, I have taken 2 issues of Big bill Le Casseur and uploaded them here.  As we now have 3 issues, I've created a new section for them in the French Language section:-
https://comicbookplus.com/?cid=3418
I think these are important books and the art Pierre Mouchot (Chott) is dynamic and worth looking at - even if you can't read the text. There is a much higher level of violence in these comics.
As I'm not sure who scanned the last 2 issues, I'm, sure Doc Mars will keep me right.  Au Secours.

This book really reminds me of Chott's other masked avenger, Fantax. Violence was definitely a calling card in both series. In one episode Fantax, leg caught in a trap, fought a bear (with his bear hands) and ended up bleeding like a stuck pig. He also relaxed after the battle by lighting up a cigarette. That scene made me realize how seldom the heroes in Golden Age American comics smoked cigarettes. The health issue wasn't yet on the public radar, and in the movies heroes smoked like chimneys; but in the comics most heroes limited themselves to smoking pipes (though never while in uniform).

Later addition: I see we have the lead-up to this episode (issue #27).

A number of European titles featured some rather graphic violence, and in Spain and Italy, the censors stepped in.  The Spanish strip, El Guererro del Antifaz was one such, and in Italy, early pocket libraries were extremely graphically violent.  Kriminal, well drawn by Magnus,  while enjoyable, was a bit much for the authorities.  Even more violent was Sadik.  Other titles were, Demoniak; Spettrus, Fantasm.  They were also available translated into French. If you can lay your hands on them, Kriminal is the one to go for.

Something a bit lighter today, a short compilation of Gerald G Swan superheroes and masked mystery men and women. The stories are taken from our archive of Swan titles.

I would love to see some of the fumetti-style supercriminals on here, if there are any that fall into public domain. Probably not, since AFAIK Diabolik kickstarted the whole supercrime genre (hailing back to the early pulp and film supercriminals like Fantomas and Dr. Mabuse) again in the mid-1960s. I'm thinking specifically of KILLING (or as he's now known in English translation, SADISTIK): http://morttodd.com/SADVD.pdf, but any French or Italian comics or fumetti along those lines.

I'm sure we would have problems were we to host the main ones here.  Even the lesser known titles might cause trouble, so I don't want to take the chance.  However, if you fancy a swatch at the films which go along with the comics, this site has some in Turkish and also some of the other Turkish superhero films they churned out.  Music ripped from Bond and other well known films.

Have a look at some of the other listings for a Turkish Phantom
This link will take you to the team-up film with "Santo" and "Cap.America" battling evil "Spiderman"

If you look further, there is a Turkish Zorro and , somewhere, a Turkish Mandrake, I think.
Killing was originally Kilink in his original Turkish series.

Try this link:-

As for the comics, I have a small selection.  If you'd like a few, pm me.
Diabolik is still going strong with a new issue every month, a reprint and a second reprint, plus collections, hardbacks, specials.  Some good stories still appear. A diverting read.

I've uploaded a new version of the Buck Ryan story, "Twilight's Out!" #39, to replace the previous version which just wouldn't display correctly.  A wee tweak here and there was all it took, so download it now.  And let me know if there are still problems with it.  You'll find it here:-

After I did a bit of tweaking - the files wouldn't display properly first time round - we now have 2 more Buck Ryan features - the last two stories in fact.
All thanks must go to Wiseman who did all the research and compilations.

Another Buck Ryan story this morning.  From 1950, and it seems to me that Zola is the one with the brains in this one.
Wiseman did all the work researching and digging up the original tiers and without his efforts, I wouldn't have had the opportunity to compile the story.

I've been thinking about today's upload off and on for a while and finally got around to putting it together.  From the early '50's, this is a collection of Brett Marlowe strips from Lion.  The compilation is, I think, incomplete, so if anyone would like to add missing stories, or put together a new compilation, I'd urge you to go ahead.

Courtesy of Wiseman's efforts, we have another Buck Ryan tale - A Fishy Story - from 1950.  At the time, Britain still had rationing and there was a flourishing black market.  In fact, petrol rationing had just ended before this story was written and it wasn't until 1954 that meat and all other food rationing ended in Britain.

As I had to straighten some of the tiers, there is occasionally a slight shortening at each end. Hope this doesn't spoil your enjoyment.
