Can't find much on him.

I'm pretty sure this is the same Bean. When he was in mainstream comics Bean's art showed the influence of Joe Kubert (with whom he'd worked). Some of that influence shows here, especially in profile shots of the Indians' faces and in the "wiggle marks" around fighting figures. He does a pretty good job overall, but he seems to have put more effort into the first chapter than the remainder of the book.

Apparently He worked with Kubert at the Kubert School. The similarities in their work aren't hard to see.

I don't think Bean ever worked at the Kubert School. He and Joe worked together in the 1950s long before the school opened (1976).  The one title that they collaborated on that comes most immediately to mind is St John's Meet Miss Pepper.

According to the Lambiek entry on Bean (above),

'Bean is also an accomplished portrait painter and the co-founder of Wylde Films, Inc, through which he produces industrial films and commercials, animation and live action. Bean has also produced and directed cartooning correspondence course videos for Joe Kubert's World of Cartooning.'

Kubert mentions him briefly in this interview.

Thanks for this info.  I remember reading the interview in an issue of The Comics Journal a couple of decades ago.   Joe sometimes gets his years off here and there.  Considering he's rembering back forty, fifty or sixty years sometimes that's bound to happen.
Joe Kubert's World of Cartooning was a correspondence course that Joe set up in 1998 for people who couldn't actually attend the school for one reason or another.
