Thanks Jon.
Oh, please avoid using special characters in your file names.
ie:
Uncle Charlie's Fables #3 would have uploaded as Uncle Charlie to the site.
Uncle Charlies Fables #3 works best.

Take care,

Sorry Yoc.  It was late last night when I uploaded.  I shold have specified, but forgot.  Johnny Law goes under Comic House / Gleason.  I'm not clear on the exact relation of Good and Comic House, but there sure appears to be some and Overstreet indicates such.  More importantly for our site, the previous Johnny Law scan is there so they ought to at least be together.

Jon,
will look forward to getting the books back. BTW, I just spoke to Mr. Groth about the Jingle Jangles and he says I should have them back by Monday, Feb. 9. SO, if you want to include some in your next batch, ask away.

I don't know if Jon wanted to scan some of the Jingle Jangles, but I certainly did.  (As I just said in a PM to you, I got hit by a variety of RL details but am down to the last two books to scan and will have your books in the mail back to you Monday.  Sorry about the delay.)

Eric, I'll let you take the Jingle Jangles.  I don't need to scan them personally.  AgentUup wanted the scans (and would probably edit if you'd like. I'll give you contact info if you don't have it.)

I'm probably going to put in a big "order" for St John, Ziff Davis, and/or Planet Comics.

Now uploading to FTP A-1 #90 (Red Hawk #11) from ME.  It's the only Red Hawk issue so I thought A-1 might be more descriptive in this case.  Another JVJon production.

Also Kilroys #48 from ACG.

I'll start pulling them today, Jon, but I just wanted to check with you about three things:
1. astrp3's list - there are only a few books left on it. Are you at all interested. I could toss them in
2. Jingle Jangle - they are back from Fantagraphics and you mentioned them earlier. Not this batch?
3. I'm going to be gone through May 2. How many books could you manage between now and then. I could send TWO boxes?

Let me know the answers and I'll get whatever you decide out tomorrow.

In reverse order.  I will probably get through more than a single box so I'm fine with you sending 2.

I thought OtherEric wanted to scan those.  If he does not, I'd like to see them scanned, yes. So if a second box comes those would be logical choices.

Similarly, if  there's room you can send me the rest of the Astrp3's horror book requests.

Thanks MB for Secret Missions now up

Yes, thank you! I've been meaning to pick up a copy of SECRET MISSIONS for years, but it hasn't happened yet. Now I won't have to buy a copy!

Here's a little FYI about this comic: SECRET MISSIONS was based on Admiral Ellis Zacharias' book and radio show of the same name that dealt with his career as a military intelligence officer. It is worth noting that Zacharias had been a very highly placed member of the Office of War Information during WWII. Archer St. John, publisher of this comic and of the comic line bearing his name, was also in the OWI and it's likely that Zacharias was one of his superiors.

And a small correction: the comic entitled, WORLD'S GREATEST STORIES published by Jubilee, should really be listed under the St. John comics section. Jubilee was an alternate name used by St. John. It was also used on the first series of THREE STOOGES comics among others.

As long as I'm at it I suppose I should introduce myself. My name is Ken Quattro and I've been a lurker on this terrific site for a while now. I'm deeply involved with researching and writing about various aspects of comic history (my latest published article in ALTER EGO was on St. John) and this site has been a great help. Keep up the good work!

Jon, the above (except the the Planets) went into the mail today. Planets are going out tomorrow (I just missed the mailman on the second box. Drat). Here are the omissions and exceptions:

1. Planet 4 & 8 are not there, but issues 2 & 3 (both coverless) ARE. I had guessed long ago at the issue numbers and actually figured them out when Henry Steele, Hames Ware and I updated them for the GCD. The correct numbers were on my hard copy list, but not on the electronic file I copied for the GAC site. Sorry.

2. There are NO index cards for the Planet Comics. All the information is on the GCD.

3. Blue Circle #6 is not included. Don't know why or where it might have gotten to. Sorry.

4. The Hawk: #s 5,6,7 are confusing and commingled with Approved Comics. Hawk #5 is Approved #1 and Hawk #6 is Approved #7. I put all the numbers in my list so I would end up with duplicates. Sorry for any confusion.

5. Secret Missions #1 is removed, as per your request.

6. Ziff-Davis Fairy Tales #10 is not included. Many years ago I sent some comics to Tex Blaisdell to review with him, but he died and the comics were never returned. Sigh... This was one of them.

7. Avon: Witchcraft #4 & 6 are included as per astrp3's wants.

8. Ditto Ajax Voodoo #2 (no index card for this, either, but that's really Matt Baker in there - definitely a reprint!)

Have fun scanning all this.

Hi, Ken,
Welcome into the light...

Actually, Jim, it's your involvement with the GAC that brought me out of the shadows! All the recent uploads of the Rural Home/Enwil/Croyden etc. books out of your collection have been a boon to my research for my current piece. As a matter of fact, I have some thoughts regarding the Baily Shop that I'm going to run by you sometime. But probably after you return from France. Bon Voyage, Jim!
