Where to buy Golden Age PD books to scan
« on: September 20, 2008, 11:08:14 AM »

Just wondering where people go shopping for GA books online.

eBay is the obvious starting place.

I've had good experiences with Metropolis Comics so far.

I won't buy anything from Mile High Comics when they list them on their site; but if they put the books on eBay they prices drop down to sane and I've gotten some nice items there.

Anybody know of other places I should be looking?

When Mile High has stuff on sale for 80% off it is at everyone else's reasonable price.

Say what you like about Mile High Comics, at least they're honest enough to include a warning about their prices in their name.  ;D

Like I said, I've been quite happy with some of the items Mile High lists on eBay.  But the mind just boggles looking at their "list prices".

Eric I've had really good luck with newkaria, comiclink, mycomicshop, and Terry's Comics to name a few, I think there are a few others I've bought through, but I can't remember right off hand who they were right now besides e-bay buys. And yes I've bought a few from Mile High, but only when they were on "sale", unless it was one I just couldn't find anywhere else and really wanted it.

My three favorite dealers are James Payette, Terry's Comics and A-! Comics. Check them out, even if they aren't on-line. I think the vast majority of my purchases in the last decade have been from them. Good comics, fairly graded and at affordable prices. And always remember, $40 is the maximum I've ever paid for a comic book.

One time at a convention I traded a goldenage Cap to him for a '78 Les Paul. He's a straight shooter.
It's amazing the number of musicians that are comicbook folk.

Jim, I have to ask you what book cost you the $40?

Inquiring minds want to know
